Guilford County homeowners should soon see their 2026 property-tax bills, while county officials are also cautioning residents about fraudulent payment requests.
The county says 2026 tax bills are projected to be mailed by Saturday, Aug. 15. Because of North Carolina’s property-reappraisal moratorium, the bills will be based on 2025 assessed values rather than updated 2026 reappraisal values. Property owners who pay by Monday, Aug. 31 remain eligible for the county’s 1% early-payment discount.
Guilford County also says residents have reported fraudulent calls and letters seeking early tax payments and referencing Senate Bill 889. Officials urge residents to verify unexpected tax-payment requests directly with the county before taking action.
