Back-to-School Resource Fair Set for Today in Winston-Salem

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Families preparing for the start of the school year have a free community resource available today in Winston-Salem.

Forsyth County is hosting a Back-to-School Resource Fair from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, August 8, at Highland Avenue Park. The event will include a bookbag giveaway while supplies last, with students required to be present to receive a bookbag.

Free food will also be available while supplies last. Families can connect with community agencies offering information about local programs and resources, while children and parents can take part in activities, music and entertainment. Organizers also say special guest speakers are expected.

The event is a joint effort involving Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., the Parenting PATH, Insight Human Services, Forsyth County Health and Human Services and other community partners.

The Back-to-School Resource Fair runs from 2–4 p.m. at Highland Avenue Park in Winston-Salem. Admission is free.
