Greensboro Youth Town Hall With Police Set for Wednesday

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Young people in Greensboro will have a chance to speak directly with police and community leaders during a Youth Town Hall scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 26.

The City of Greensboro's Community Safety Department says the event will run from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the third-floor conference room at Greensboro Police Headquarters, 100 E. Police Plaza.

The town hall is open to people ages 14 to 24 and is designed to encourage candid discussion between youth and members of the Greensboro Police Department. The program will include a panel conversation involving young residents and police representatives.

Community advocate Jeremiah Jett is scheduled to facilitate the discussion. City officials describe the event as an effort to build understanding, strengthen communication and give younger residents a direct forum to discuss public-safety concerns and experiences.
