Disney Reveals New Asteria Concept as Future North Carolina Community Takes Shape

PITTSBORO, N.C. — Disney is giving North Carolinians another look at Asteria, the company's planned Storyliving by Disney residential community in Chatham County.

Asteria is planned for Pittsboro's Chatham Park and is being developed with contributions from Walt Disney Imagineering. Disney says the community is designed around discovery, connection and exploration while drawing inspiration from North Carolina's natural setting and local character.

The project is planned for roughly 4,000 residences, including single-family and attached homes, with some housing designated for residents 55 and older. Disney says home sales are anticipated to begin in 2027.

Recent concept material highlights locally inspired design details as the future community continues to take shape. Disney notes that concept images represent proposed designs and may change before completion.
