App State Adds AJ Clark to Men’s Basketball Staff Ahead of 2026-27 Season

App State men’s basketball has added AJ Clark as an assistant coach ahead of the 2026-27 season, adding another experienced recruiter and player developer to head coach Dustin Kerns’ staff.

Clark comes to Boone after two seasons at Eastern Kentucky. App State says his background includes NCAA Tournament experience as both a player and coach, along with a reputation for recruiting, teaching and relationship-building.

Kerns called Clark a strong fit for the Mountaineers’ culture and highlighted his North Carolina ties. The hire gives App State another new piece on the bench as preparations continue for the 2026-27 campaign.

For Mountaineer fans, the move is part of a broader offseason reshaping of the program as App State works toward the fall schedule and the start of another Sun Belt season.
