App State Men’s Basketball Builds 2026-27 Roster Around Size, Transfer Experience

App State men’s basketball will have a different look in 2026-27, with coach Dustin Kerns’ current roster combining returning Mountaineers with a large group of players who bring experience from other college programs.

The most obvious change is size. App State lists redshirt freshman Rrezon Elezaj, a 7-foot-2, 242-pound center who spent last season at UConn, and 7-foot freshman Bryan Chretien of Amiens, France. Elezaj appeared in four games for UConn before redshirting and has international experience in Turkey’s youth national-team program.

The roster also includes Kansas transfer Corbin Allen, Indian Hills Community College guard Mason Costello, Concordia St. Paul guard Ben Kopetzki, Alabama A&M forward Chad Moodie and Stonehill guard Hermann Koffi. Returning names on the official roster include KJ Vasser, Eren Banks, Ted Neal, Cameron O’Kelley, Luke Ledford and Grant Clayton.

The combination gives App State a deeper mix of size, experience and developmental pieces as preparations continue for the new season. Fans will get an early chance to connect with the program at App State’s FanFest on Saturday, Aug. 15, when every Mountaineer varsity team is scheduled to be represented at Kidd Brewer Stadium.
