WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A Winston-Salem woman is facing drug-trafficking and child-related charges following an investigation into the death of a one-month-old infant last year.
According to court documents cited by WXII, Taylor Marie Allman was charged after testing connected to the investigation showed methamphetamine in the infant's system at the time of the child's death on Oct. 12, 2025. A warrant also alleges Allman lived in a residence where methamphetamine was being sold when the child died.
Authorities say Allman faces two counts of trafficking methamphetamine, one count of misdemeanor child abuse and one count of contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile. A separate warrant issued in September concerns allegations involving between 200 and 400 grams of methamphetamine.
Winston-Salem police took Allman into custody Monday. Court records cited in the report showed she was being held at the Forsyth County Detention Center under a $250,000 bond.
The charges arrive nearly a year after the infant's death, illustrating the time that can be required for toxicology, investigative work and the preparation of criminal allegations following a death investigation. The newly filed charges do not by themselves establish criminal guilt, and Allman is entitled to the presumption of innocence unless and until proven guilty in court.
Authorities had not publicly released a broader account of the circumstances surrounding the infant's death beyond the allegations contained in the court documents. TTN News will continue to follow the case for additional filings, court dates and information released by Winston-Salem police or Forsyth County court officials.
