Wake Forest Visits Purdue at Noon Seeking 2-0 Start

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Wake Forest plays its first road game of 2026 Saturday when the Demon Deacons face Purdue at noon on FS1.

Wake enters 1-0 after a 38-16 victory over Akron. Quarterback Gio Lopez threw for 350 yards and three touchdowns in his Demon Deacon debut, while Carlos Hernandez caught five passes for 165 yards and a touchdown.

Running back Ty Clark III added 105 rushing yards in the opener. Wake Forest’s official game center lists Lopez, Clark and Hernandez as the team leaders entering the Purdue matchup.

This is Wake Forest’s first meeting with Purdue since 2003. The Boilermakers won that game 16-10, and Saturday gives Wake an early nonconference road test before returning home to face Miami on Sept. 18.
