Wake Forest senior wide receiver Carlos Hernandez has added another preseason honor ahead of the 2026 season, earning a spot on the Hispanic Player of the Year Watch List.
The honor is Hernandez's fifth of the preseason. Wake Forest says he is also a Phil Steele preseason third-team All-American and has received multiple preseason All-ACC recognitions.
Hernandez caught 40 passes for a team-high 611 yards and three touchdowns last season while also scoring on a rush and a punt return. He surged late in the year with 23 catches for 463 yards and three touchdowns over the final four games.
His big-play production included a 93-yard touchdown catch against Delaware, the longest touchdown reception in Wake Forest history, plus an 88-yard punt-return touchdown in the win over No. 19 Virginia.
