Wake Forest wide receiver Antonio Meeks is already giving Demon Deacons fans a glimpse of the playmaking ability that brought him to Winston-Salem. In Wake Forest’s season-opening win over Akron, the redshirt senior caught three passes for 93 yards, highlighted by a 72-yard touchdown.
Meeks arrived at Wake Forest after stops at Tuskegee and Louisville. At Tuskegee, he developed into one of the SIAC’s most explosive receivers, including a sophomore season with 43 catches for 745 yards and five touchdowns. He later moved to Louisville, where he appeared in all 13 games last season and added another touchdown in the Cardinals’ bowl win over Toledo.
Now at Wake Forest, the 6-foot-1, 205-pound receiver brings experience to a position group that also includes Carlos Hernandez, Jack Foley, Kam Shanks and Chase Tyler. Quarterback Gio Lopez and teammates have also pointed to Meeks as a veteran presence for younger receivers.
The early result was encouraging: one game, one explosive touchdown and a clear role in an offense looking for more production from its receiver room in 2026. Wake Forest’s next opportunity comes as the Demon Deacons continue their early-season schedule following the 38-16 opening win over Akron.
