Stein reported no injuries from the storm in the state's preliminary assessment. He thanked first responders, rescue teams, emergency managers and volunteers for their work before, during and after the severe weather. The absence of reported injuries is welcome news, but damage assessments are still underway and officials may refine their findings as local surveys continue.

The weekend weather affected multiple communities, including Montgomery County, where a National Weather Service survey confirmed a high-end EF-1 tornado in Candor. Damage there included fallen trees and affected structures. Statewide coordination helps officials distinguish isolated wind damage from larger hazards such as tornadoes and flooding, which can require different recovery responses.

Stein also pointed to disaster-preparedness investments made since Hurricane Helene, including flood-notification sirens and improved communications systems. The governor said the experience reinforced the importance of resilience work and coordination among public safety agencies.

For residents, the immediate concerns remain damaged roads, unstable trees, flood-prone areas and any structures affected by severe weather. Local emergency management offices are the best source for neighborhood-specific closures and recovery instructions. The state has not yet announced a final damage total or a complete list of affected properties.

TTN News will continue monitoring official weather-service surveys and state or county emergency management announcements for verified information about damage, displaced residents and recovery resources.
