CLINTON, S.C. — High Point University volleyball remained undefeated in Big South Conference competition Saturday, rallying after an opening-set loss to beat Presbyterian 3-1 on the road. The Panthers improved to 13-5 overall and 7-0 in conference play.

Presbyterian took the first set 25-23, but High Point responded with increasingly convincing wins of 25-11, 25-17 and 25-18. The shift after the opener reflected the Panthers' ability to reset and take control rather than allow an early deficit to derail their conference momentum.

Élodie Lalonde led High Point with 11 kills, and Gabby Hill added 10. Maya Bukovcan contributed nine kills, three service aces and nine blocks, providing an important presence at the net. Setter Remy Catojo recorded 39 assists, while Kea Whillock finished with 12 digs.

Coach Ryan Meek acknowledged that the Panthers had not started the match with the focus and effort he wanted, crediting Presbyterian for capitalizing early. He said High Point looked more like itself over the final three sets but stressed that the team must improve its approach at the start of matches.

The victory kept High Point atop the Big South standings without a conference loss. Presbyterian dropped to 8-13 overall and 2-5 in league competition. For HPU, the next challenge will be sustaining its level from the opening whistle rather than relying on a response after falling behind.
