Guilford County Seeks Volunteers for Sept. 19 Benbow Nature Preserve Cleanup

Guilford County is seeking volunteers to help clean Benbow Nature Preserve during National CleanUp Day on Saturday, Sept. 19.

The cleanup will run from 9-11 a.m. at the preserve, located at 2279 Britton St. in Greensboro. Volunteers will remove litter while learning about the impact trash can have on local waterways.

Participants must be at least 18 years old. The county recommends waterproof boots or closed-toe shoes, long pants and a hat, and encourages volunteers to bring work gloves and a reusable water bottle.

Community service hours will be available upon request, and registration is open through Guilford County. Benbow Nature Preserve includes walking trails, picnic areas and an urban orchard with native fruit and nut trees.
