GREENSBORO, N.C. — Greensboro is offering a temporary curbside storm-debris collection period as crews continue cleanup from severe weather that damaged parts of the city and surrounding Guilford County.
Residents may place storm-related yard debris at the curb for collection over the next two weeks. The City says accepted material includes branches, twigs, leaves, yard trimmings and dead plant material.
Residents should use their gray yard-waste containers first. Additional leaves and yard trimmings should be placed in biodegradable paper bags, while sticks and branches must be bundled. Items should be no more than five feet long.
Solid Waste crews will collect up to 15 items per household at a time. City officials are asking residents for patience while crews continue addressing storm cleanup across Greensboro.
The temporary collection effort follows severe storms that brought down trees and caused widespread damage and power outages across parts of the Triad.
