GREENSBORO, N.C. — A Greensboro nonprofit says demand for food assistance has climbed sharply this year as more Triad families seek help putting food on the table.
Out of the Garden Project reported that demand for its services is up nearly 50% in 2026. The organization said it distributed more than 282,000 pounds of food during August alone.
The increase highlights continuing food-insecurity pressures across the Greensboro area and the growing workload facing local hunger-relief organizations.
TTN News will continue following local nonprofit and community-service developments across the Triad.
