GREENSBORO, N.C. — A 63-year-old Greensboro man faces four felony charges following an investigation involving the Greensboro Police Department and the Triad Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

Police say the investigation began after the Lincoln City Police Department in Oregon contacted Greensboro authorities about allegations involving Carroll Wayne Hinkle.

According to local reporting citing Greensboro police, the department’s Family Victims Unit and the Triad Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force investigated the allegations. Hinkle was charged with two counts of soliciting a child by computer and two counts of indecent liberties with a child.

Police say Hinkle was arrested Friday at a Greensboro motel by the department’s Violent Crime Reduction Team. He was being held without bond ahead of a court appearance Monday.

The charges are allegations. Hinkle is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
