Duke Visits Illinois Today With Nate Sheppard Leading the Ground Game

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — Duke hits the road for the first time this season Saturday when the Blue Devils face Illinois at 3:30 p.m. ET.

The game will air on FS1. Duke enters 1-0 after a 17-3 win over Tulane, while running back Nate Sheppard arrives in Champaign after rushing for 227 yards and two touchdowns in the opener. Duke Athletics lists Sheppard as the team’s rushing leader through Week 1.

The matchup is a rematch of last season’s meeting in Durham. Illinois won that game 45-19, giving Duke an early-season opportunity to answer on the road.

Duke’s official game center lists Walker Eget as the passing leader with 131 yards and Jonah Burton as the receiving leader with 38 yards entering Saturday.
