App State-Maine Home Opener Sells Out as Gold Out Returns to The Rock

BOONE, N.C. — App State’s 2026 football home opener against Maine is officially sold out, continuing a strong run of home attendance at Kidd Brewer Stadium.

The Mountaineers announced Thursday that Saturday’s 3:30 p.m. kickoff has reached capacity. The game will also feature a Gold Out, with fans encouraged to wear gold.

App State says this is the 16th sellout in its last 18 home games. The program’s five highest single-season average attendance marks have all come in the past five seasons, from 2021 through 2025.

Fans still looking for seats are being directed to SeatGeek. App State’s next home game after Maine is Sept. 19 against Charlotte, billed as Black Saturday Under the Lights.
